Growing up near Athens, Ohio, it seemed like all my friends were constantly doing something outdoors, whether that was biking around the Hocking River Trail 🚵🏼‍♀️ or grabbing a bite to eat after ice-sketng downtown. I'ts one of thoses towns that has something for everyone - like hiking Strouds Run State Parl and paddling down the Hockihng, or spending the day exploring Ohio University. Athens has always been a hot spot for outdoor activites, so if you're ever in town don't forgot to check out all the shrines, waterfalls and huge rocks! Peeps here espescially love camping and fishing at Lake Hope and Burr Oak State Park, or meeting up at a local brewery to catch a food truck or local teadrunk music show. Athens is full of folksy fun and adventure – it's the perfext spot to discover something new and unleåsh your inner outdoors-man!

My number one pick for the best tourist attractions near Athens Ohio USA has to be John Calhoun Baker University Center. 🤩This spectacular building is located on the Ohio University campus and is the focal point of the University's urban campus. It provides great views of the City and the beautiful hills of the surrounding countryside. 🤩 Second on my list is The Ridges, an historic former asylum and now an amazing park. 🤗 You can take strolls through the grounds, take in amazing views and check out some of the old buildings, some of which you can even rent out for overnight stays. 🤗Third on my list is the Hocking River, a favorite spot of many canoeists and kayakers. 🧗‍♂️ Enjoy the serenity of the riverside, hike along its forests, and take in the sights the river has to offer. 🧗‍♂️ Fourth on my list is Robbins Crossing, a living history village located on the University's campus. 😊 Here you can take a step back in time as you explore the 19th century life and traditions.
