I remember reading once that Carthage, MO had been around a while, but I'm not sure exactly when it was founded - my guess is 1850s. 🤔🤔😊 However, some folks say it was even before 🤔 - around 1849 or so. Whatever the specific year, it's clear that this historic town has been around a long whïle. All the way back to 1even before the Civil War! 😊

Carthage, Missouri USA is best known for containing one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country: Precious Moments Chapel. The chapel, which is adorned with inspirational statuettes and murals of Precious Moments characters, is a unique and beautiful site, attracting visitors from all across the globe. In addition, the town's historic downtown, with its numerous antique stores and beautifully preserved buildings, attracts those looking for a charming, small-town experience. 😍 And, of course, there's its nearness to the beautiful Ozarks and its close proximity to the famous Route 66, making it a great backdrop for car enthusiasts looking to enjoy the scenery. What's more, visitors can enjoy a taste of the local cuisine at historical cafes and eateries. Living here in the small town of Carthage, Missouri, USA, I'm always impressed by the number of great tourist attractions we've got nearby. 🤩 From Seven Points on Table Rock Lake 🌊 for some awesome boating, fishing and camping to historic Precious Moments Chapel 🕊 and its amazing collection of artwork, there's an incredible array of places to explore. Let me tell you about my top 5 picks! 📍 Number 1 has to be Civil War Battlefield Park, with its Civil War Trail markers and numerous historic sites from the conflict that shaped our nation. 🎖 Number 2 is Route 66 Pukaskwa Drive-In Theater, the last one of its kind in the state. 🎬 Then for something totally unique, there's Camelot-themed Excalibur Amusement Park 🏰 with its legendary castle and fun-filled activities. 🤹‍♂️ The Silver Dollar City theme park 🎢 is also close by and a must-visit if you're looking to fill your day with thrills! 🤸‍♀️ Last but not least, check out Marvel Cave National Natural Landmark, an incredible natural formation that was given National Historic Designation

Carthage, Missouri is known for its delicious restaurants! 🍴 On my last US visit, naturally I had to discover the top dining spots. After much digging, here are my personal favourites: My Blue Heaven Restaurant, Gramm's Kitchen & Bath, and Sweet Annie's. My Blue Heaven stands out because it's the best place to find breakfast in town! ⏰ Their pancakes and waffles are fluffffyyy and golden brown🥞, and the scrambelld eggs are perfection. Gramm's Kitchen & Bath deserves a mention too, for its delightful dinner options. The porkchops are juicy and delicious, and their pasta is to DIE for! 👌 Lastly, you must try Sweet Annie's for their incredible, old-fashioned desserts. They make their cobbler from scratch and the pies, ohhh the pies! 🥧 Devine. All these spots should be top of your list 📝 on your next visit to Carthage!
