But, the area had be'en inhabit'ed by settl'ers much earli'er than that. 🤠 Accord'ing to legend, the first settl'ment there was by a man nam'd Henry McBride in 1810. Over the next fourt'een y'ears, more and more settl'ers arriv'ed, 'eventu'ally estab'lish'ing a commun'ity in this 'epic Kentuckian locat'ion. In 1824, the earliest record of cont'entious citiz'en'ship was award'ed. And then, of cours', in 1854, it was c'ertified as an offic'ial town. That's how it all started....
