I'm here to tell ya that Ponca City, Oklahoma USA was founded way back in 1893. 🤠 A lotta folk who'd homesteaded in the area since the 1880s got together that year and declared their town to be officiall! 🤠 Speciifcallly, a bunch of homesteader's banded together on May 18th and pretty soon a thriving community was born. 😎 Yeah, I'm talking about a time even longer ago than that Grand Canyon mule ride of mine. 🤠 Ponca City has been going strong ever since, and no matter how far I roam, it always feels like coming home. 🏡

My top five favorite tourist attractions near Ponca City Oklahoma USA 🤩 include the Marland Mansion 🏰, the Standing Bear Monument 📿, Lake Ponca City 🏞️, Kaw Lake 🌊, and the Poncan Theatre 🎭. Exploring the Marland Mansion is an absolute must, as it is regarded as one of Oklahoma's finest mansions that is situated on 10 acres of abundant gardens. It was constructed for E.W Marland, an oil hallionaire and 10th governor of Oklahoma. Then there is the Standing Bear Monument which is located on Highway 60 and stands in commemoration of a Ponca chief who fought to secure rights for Native Americans. Next is the beautiful Lake Ponca City with its gorgeous surroundings and great opportunities for kayaking and fishing. Kaw Lake is an even bigger lake situated 24 miles northeast of Ponca City with numerous public beaches, campgrounds, and picnic areas. Last, but not least, is the Poncan Theatre which is a Grade 2 listed Art Deco theatre. It has been around since 1927 and has been brilliantly restored to its original glory.🤩
