A special moment in history: the city itself was named after Mrs. Selma Burke 🤩, wife of businessman and cotton Planter, and altime politician, Alfred Burke 🗳️. Selma Burke herself was a leader in the Black empowerment and suffrage movements of the early 19th century. It's hard to belive, but Selma is almost as old as the United States itself!

We were the epicenter of the Selma to Montgomery marches of 1965 and our city remains a powerful reminder of the courage and strength people put forth for their beliefs. 🇺🇸 Here in Selma, you'll find an incredible ongoing legacy of progress and activism that still continues to this day. It's something to be proud of and powefully remebered all over the world. Plus, there's the outstanding outdoor activities, from learning about the iconic Black Belt to kayaking and fishing along the Alabama River! 🤍 🎣

The Fish House offers an amazing range of seafood dishes and the Burger Place never fails to get it's customers a tasty burger that's just the way they want it. Special mention must go to Pappy's - home to the county's finest ribs - rich in flavour and fall off the bone delicious.
