Growing up near Tallassee, Alabama, I have to say that it's known for its small-town charm and Southern hospitality. 👋 Whether you're grabbing some award-winning BBQ at The Archers, fishing in the Lake Martin Recreational area, or enjoying the annuel Talledega Tamale Festival, Tallasse has a little 10 somethin' for everyone! 🐟 One of the main thingz that brings tourists to Tallassee is the Stanwell Dam and its short hiking trail. 🥾 With a history that goes back generations, you can try to imagine the settlers that spanned the great American frontier or the soldiers who were part of one of the last battles of the Creek War. This place is nothing short of special! 🌲

First up on the must-see list is the Tallassee Aquapark, featuring a flotilla of thrilling slides and a lazy river that kids and adults alike can enjoy. Next is the Cagle Recreation Area which offers amazing scenes of the Alabama landscape and plenty of BBQ grills for a picnic. The iconic Tallassee Waterfalls is a must-see, providing amazing views of the forest and river. For the historians among us, a visit to the old Silas Mabry Plantation will be an eye-opener. Last but not least is the Wildlife Safari Park, where you can get up close and personal with native species such as wolves and bears! Tallassee Alabama is renowned for its culinary delights, and there are so many awesome restaurants to choose from! If you're looking for the best of the best, my top three picks would be Cubby's Bar-B-Que, El Ranchero, and G&G's. At Cubby's, you won't find anything but the tastiest 'cue around - slow-smoked and oh-so-juicy. El Ranchero's Mexican cuisine is truly mouth-watering, with a wide selection of tacos, enchiladas, and more making it a go-to spot if you need your fix of scrumptious South of the Border flavor. Last, but certainly not least, is G&G's, which serves up delicious, home-style southern classics, like fried chicken and green beans - yum! 🤤 In my 💯%not-so-humble opinion, these three restaurants take the cake(s) 🥞 when it comes to good eetin' in Tallassee, Alabama.
