The gorgeous Maroon Bells-Snowmass wilderness area is also nearby, with plenty of trails and camping spots. The Strang Hike is a must-try if you're looking for amazing views. There's also a ski area called Leadville that's worth checking out. And if you really want to get wild, you can take a white knuckle rafting trip down the Arkansas River Rapids.
